On the run up to the policy renewal date we contact every customer regardless of size to review whether the insurance needs to be changed to continue to meet the needs of the customer the renewal isn’t just ‘popped in the post’ like so many other Brokers do. Once the paperwork has been sent out, we call our customer again to make sure it’s been received and answer any questions. Or better still, depending on the size of the customer, we present it in person.
All our clients also have a single point of contact for everything, including claims. You buy insurance to know that if the worst happens, everything will be OK. So in my opinion, if you have a claim, that’s not the time when you have to speak to someone you’ve never spoken to before and who knows nothing about you except what’s on the screen in front of them.
Every customer is different so if someone wants to meet one of our team on a building site and 7.30 in the morning to discuss something that’s important to them – we’ll be there. That’s the service that everyone should expect.
The messages that people get about Insurance tends to be delivered by Meerkats and Opera Singers telling us Insurance is cheap and cheerful. I know that’s aimed a personal customers but some of that message can’t help but bleed through into the commercial sector. So when you’re looking at your insurance renewal, do make sure that you’re getting good value as well as a good price because when you need support and advice from knowledgeable, experienced people, you need to be sure it will be there.
