Kubota, the company famed as a mini excavator pioneer, is turning its attention to another highly competitive corner of the compact equipment market – skid steer loaders.Delegates at the company’s recent dealer meeting in Nashville, Tennessee got a first glimpse of the two-model SSV range.The three tonne class SSV65 is powered by a 47.7 kW Tier 4 Kubota diesel engine and has a rated capacity of 885 kW together with a bucket breakout force of 2,195 kgf. The larger SSV75, meanwhile, competes in the four tonne operating weight class and is powered by a Tier 4 compliant Kubota V3307 diesel power pack that delivers 55.4 kW. Bucket breakout force for the larger model is 2,669 kgf.Both models come with standard two-speed travel and optional high-flow hydraulics.
Features include an up-and-over sliding front door, multifunction handles for high-flow machines and a side light feature.
The new machines are scheduled to be available in 2015, although we have as yet been unable to ascertain if this is for the entire world.
